About ACE/Contact Info
ACE PASSPORT: A web-based online learning system which will certify to educational and healthcare institutions that students have completed certain requirements prior to the start of their clinical placements.
A brief history: In 2007, the Michigan Health and Hospital Association convened representatives from several health care systems and educational institutions in Southeast Michigan. The goal was to address issues which limit the number of students who can be trained to be healthcare professionals. The result was the creation of ACE, the Alliance for Clinical Experience, which is a collaborative effort between clinical and educational partners. This partnership creates technological solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the flow of students through their clinical placement experience. ACE is comprised of two new systems:
Initial Funding: ACE has been initially funded by the six healthcare systems in SE Michigan, federal funds obtained through the Office of the Chief Nurse Executive for the State of Michigan and a grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation.
